Marketing names map to internal tiers: Pro = Starter, Ultra = Advanced. Legacy Ultra (grandfathered) and Lifetime keep unlimited AI translations.

Usage increments only when BabelBot posts a translation, not when it skips or fails silently.
Free tier timeline
- Trial pool: 100 AI translations total for a new server (does not reset when the calendar month changes).
- After trial: 50 AI translations per calendar month (UTC).
- Basic text: Unlimited ordinary text via the in-house engine once AI quota for the period is used up (plain text, no attachments requiring AI).
- top.gg bonus: One-time +100 AI translations after an attributed vote on Free (
TOPGG_VOTE_BONUS_MESSAGES).
Images and other attachment translation require AI capacity and a paid plan with media translation enabled.

How to upgrade or manage subscription
Goal: Change plan or open Polar customer portal.

Lifetime purchases use a one-time payment; Lifetime transfer moves founder access between servers you own (Dashboard Guide).
When to upgrade
Free fits when:
- One target language is enough
- You mainly need text chat translated (including in-house fallback after AI cap)
- You do not need image translation or many bridges
Choose Pro when:
- You need more target languages or bridges
- You want image / media translation on supported content
- AI quota of 5,000 messages per month matches your volume
Choose Ultra when:
- Translation is core to daily operations
- You need up to 10 languages and unlimited bridges
- 25,000 AI translations per month is the right ceiling
Choose Lifetime when:
- You want a one-time purchase with unlimited AI translations and founder-style limits
If you approach a limit
- Remove low-priority target languages
- Tighten channel rules so fewer channels auto-translate
- Turn off flag reactions if they are optional
- Upgrade before busy events (launches, tournaments, AMAs)
